Old Tjikko, a Norway Spruce, is the oldest known living individual tree, located in Sweden.  Its estimated age is 9,550 years.

    The highlights are the first folks arriving in Ireland and Scotland. There's no indication as to how the seed may have gotten to Norway, at least not by means other than the elements. The info didn't say anything about who was in Norway at the time and where they came from.

    Another article, though, says that there were people in Norway from 12,000 BCE, and that they were the ones who headed to Scotland and Ireland. Truth, or an example of nationalistic misappropriation of the the truth? (kinda like, "Revenge is a dish best served cold" being attributed to both Russians and Klingons in Star Trek, when the real origin seems to be somewhat uncertain.) You decide:

    This is about 100 years after Tollmann's hypothetical bolide may have collided with Earth, which hypothetically caused massive flooding in lots of places, so maybe it came from that. Oh if only trees could talk. :)
