100 men were asked "On a scale from 1 to 10, how good would you look in a thong?"  21 answered "10", the most common answer.  Which is proof that men are dreamers.

The April 18, 1983 United States embassy bombing was a suicide bombing in Beirut, Lebanon, that killed 63 people, mostly embassy and CIA staff members, several soldiers and one Marine. It was the deadliest attack on a U.S. diplomatic mission up to that time, and is thought of as marking the beginning of anti-U.S. attacks by Islamist groups.

A 4-sided die is a pyramid. A 2-sided die is a coin. What's a 1-sided die? It's a Möbius strip. No matter how you throw it, the die will always land on its only side. Awesome Dice developed it for role-playing games, such as Dungeons & Dragons.

Now to the obvious question: why would you ever need a 1-sided die?

It's a way of resolving conflicts that come up in gaming sessions. Sometimes there are argumentative players who press a game master to randomly roll outcomes rather than verbally lead the players along a storyline. When you have such a player in your group, get out your 1-sided die.

At Kennedy Elementary School in Dubuque, Iowa, the oldest member of the band is 79.

Tony Boland asked about joining the fifth-graders in the band after volunteering at the school, which his grandchildren attended, for more than a decade. He helps children with their reading, noting he recalls struggling with his reading as a child.

Judaism considers the Jewish people to have 4 foremothers:  Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Leah.  I think it is time to go with 6.  Bilhah and Zilpah should be added.  They gave birth to 4 of Jacob's sons, so we contain their genetic material.  They raised their sons and probably helped with Leah's and Rachel's.  The fact that Jacob either didn't love them or loved them less should not be relevant.  Neither should the fact that they were slaves, if they were.

Sometimes I like to try to find the most expensive item on ebay that I can. Today I found a farm in the Amazon rain forest in Brazil for $7,500,000. Size is 394.5 hectares (973.6 acres).

"The Nobel prize in mathematics was awarded to a California professor who has discovered a new number! The number is bleen, which he says belongs between 6 and 7." —George Carlin

So, what is bleen plus three? Bleen plus bleen? Ten times bleen? Bleen times bleen?

According to Yahoo!, Kate Middleton wore TWO dresses yesterday.  (Not at the same time.)  This was on their list of recommended articles.  Do you realize that, had they not recommended this article to me, I would have had to live without this knowledge?

It looks like her husband, what's-his-name also changed clothes.

Return to Sender: 101-Year-Old Message in a Bottle Finally Arrives

A message in a bottle that was thrown into the ocean in 1913 and recently found by a fisherman off the coast of Germany was returned to the sender's granddaughter.

"It was very surprising," said Angela Erdmann, 62. "A man stood in front of my door and told me he had post from my grandfather. He then told me that a message in a bottle was found and that the name that was on the card was that of my grandfather."

The message, found last month by fisherman Konrad Fischer, is largely indecipherable. However, the name and address of the sender - Richard Platz - is still legible, as is his request that the message be forwarded back to him.

Platz wrote the postcard, thought to be the oldest message in a bottle in the world, when he was just 20 years old.

Erdmann never knew Platz, who died at age 54. But she had heard plenty of stories about the man from her mother, his daughter.

The postcard will be on display in a German museum.

1 x 8 + 1 = 9

12 x 8 + 2 = 98

123 x 8 + 3 = 987

1234 x 8 + 4 = 9876

12345 x 8 + 5 = 98765

123456 x 8 + 6 = 987654

1234567 x 8 + 7 = 9876543

12345678 x 8 + 8 = 98765432

123456789 x 8 + 9 = 987654321

(listed under 8 since that is the consistent part)
