Chapernowne's number, 0.12345678910111213141516171819202122232425... This is constructed by concatenating the digits of the positive integers. (Can you see the pattern?)

This number is irrational (it can not be written as a fraction) and transcendental (it can not be the solution to an algebraic equation).

    1. the pattern is just a list of the whole numbers strung together: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 and so on.
