Mike Hayes of Illinois was so desperate to learn that he wrote to his
local paper for help. He asked readers to donate their pennies to help
send him to college. The result was overwhelming, with locals giving a
total of $28,000. That was enough for Hayes to study Food Science at the
University of Illinois.
Where he learned how to make a killer pastrami sandwich and is now working at a deli in New York. :)
